As a mutual, we have no stockholders. Policyholders own the company. This means we can focus on the safety and enhancement of communities rather than on generating stockholder returns. Last year, the Altona and Area Empty Stocking Fund provided Christmas hampers for 165 families and gifts for more than 400 children. Red River Mutual staff members raised $3,972 towards the Empty Stocking Fund. Red River matched these funds for a total of $7,944. Staff members raised the funds by organizing a Walk-N-Roll-A-Thon on June 11, 2009.
