For 2010, Red River Mutual is a proud sponsor of Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg. In addition to funding, several Red River staff will be taking part in a ‘sustainable’ home build this summer. Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg, founded in 1987, has built 179 homes offering partner families a hand up, not a hand out. Families are able to purchase their homes with a no down payment, interest free mortgage with payments geared to family income rather than the value of the property thus allowing them to build equity in their home. Red River is committed to supporting fire prevention and firefighting efforts in Saskatchewan. Recently, Red River Mutual partnered with Cathedral Insurance to donate $2,000 to the Estevan Fire Department and their new fire detector program. The fire detector program is a brainchild of Dustin Sands, one of the dedicated volunteer firefighters. Red River Mutual also recently donated $1,260 to the Moose Jaw Fire Department and, in partnership with Cornerstone Insurance, donated $2,000 to the RM of Buckland Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

As part of our commitment to supporting fire prevention and firefighting efforts in Manitoba, Red River Mutual recently made donations to Fire Departments throughout Manitoba including donations of $1,000 to the Glenboro – South Cypress Fire Department, $2,000 to the MacGregor Fire Department, $1,760 to the Hamiota Fire Department, $1,500 to the Ste.
